La tappa migliore in assoluto. Grado è molto bella in particolare il centro storico, che merita una visita (notevoli le 2 basiliche paleocristiane e molti scorci e antichi vicoli). Consigliata la spiaggia Costa Azzurra per un bagno. Naturalmente obbligatoria la visita ad Aquileia.

Via Flavia tappa 2: Bagnoli della Rosandra - Miramare
Prima parte in gran parte su bella pista ciclabile su ex ferrovia, fino a Trieste. Da Trieste, dopo un primo tratto un po' noiosetto, si arriva sul bellissimo e lunghissimo lungomare in cui è possibile fare il bagno in una delle 10 strutture attrezzate gratuite (i bagni comunali topolini).
