Pays de Gex - Monts Jura

This hike leads to Colomby de Gex, with beautiful views of Mont Blanc and the Geneva Basin. The trail follows the Jura ridges before descending into the forest along the Journans River, for a refreshing end to the hike.

➡ Day 3: Les Moussières -> Lélex. Approximately 5 hours 45 minutes, 19.9 km, (elevation gain 424m / elevation loss 637m).



From Les Moussières, take the GR (red and white markings) towards La Muras, Pré Grandvaux, Lac de l'Embouteilleux, L'Emboissieux, Le Berbouiller, Le Berbois, La Borne au Lion, Les

➡ Day 2: Mijoux -> Les Moussières. Approximately 4 hours 45 minutes, 15.4 km, (elevation gain 499m / elevation loss 324m).



From Mijoux, take the GR (red and white markings) towards Lajoux, Le Manon, Cariche, Les Molunes, Le Bas de Liasia, Les Rasses, and then Les Moussières.

➡ Day 1: Lélex -> Mijoux via the High Jura Mountains. Approximately 6 hours 10 minutes, 16.8 km (985m ascent / 892m descent).



You will hike the trail within the High Jura Mountains National Nature Reserve.

Route: From Menthières, La Pierre à Fromage, Crêt de la Goutte, Sorgia d'en Haut, Sorgia d'en Bas, Métral, Lancrans, Les Perches de la Valserine, Bellegarde train station.

➡ Day 4: From Lélex village to Menthières, approximately 7.5 hours.



Distance: 21.6 km

Elevation gain: +1050 m / Elevation loss: -890 m



Route: From Lélex, head towards Le Ratou, Refuge de la Loge, Crêt de la Neige, Reculet, Refuge du Gralet, Refuge de la Poutouille, La Pelaz, Menthières.

➡ Day 3: From Giron to Lélex village, approximately 6 hours.



Distance: 19.7 km

Elevation gain: +510 m / Elevation loss: -620 m



Route: From Giron, follow signs for Roche Fauconnière, La Caserne, Sous le Crêt, La Borne au Lion, Les Closettes, Le Niaizet, and Lélex.

➡ Day 2: From Retord Farm to Giron, approximately 8 hours.

Elevation gain: +740 m / Elevation loss: -1000 m
