Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, is a popular, family-friendly hiking destination 25 km from Banff along Bow Valley Parkway (Hwy 1A). It features a 2.4 km round-trip trail to Lower Falls (1 hour, easy, 30 m elevation gain) and a 5 km round-trip to Upper Falls (2 hours, moderate, 120 m elevation gain) with scenic catwalks over a limestone canyon and seven waterfalls. Year-round access; winter requires ice cleats for icy trails. Arrive before 8 AM or after 6 PM in summer to avoid crowds and parking issues. Roam Transit Route 9 offers summer bus access.
