I got to osaka which is a city popular with backpackers. It poured down for the first 30k then stopped. That was my chance to swap to dry gloves because I coudn't feel my fingers. About 2 minutes later I hit a drain and fell off and got my other gloves soaked from a puddle 😂 That pretty much summed

I was parallel with the bullet train for a lot of today, seen from afar in the first picture. It’s quiet considering the speed.



Cycling through populated areas I’ve seen a lot of driving ranges and golf shops so they must love golf in Japan. Also a lot of bowling allies.



Got to where I’m sleeping just

Woke up to a nice view today but after 10km there wasn’t much to see. But that’s what I planned. I really couldn’t be bothered with big hills today and I’ve seen a lot of views so I thought I’d stick to the busier more direct roads.

Staying in a hostel tonight because after over basically 60 continuous

Finally no rain today but instead for the first 30km an insane head wind. I would be going downhill and if I wasn’t pedalling I would come to a stop so it was mentally and physically very draining. Thankfully the wind died down and I could enjoy the scenery for the rest of the ride.

Riding a long the coast. It was raining when I started which kept me nice and wet for the day but eventually it stopped and it was quite enjoyable. The past few days I’ve been finding it really hard to cycle just feeling tired and still a bit ill but after yesterdays rest today was better.



I went through

Very aggressive rain today so after the ferry I decided to find a room for the night and start again tomorrow when the weather is meant to be a bit better.

Similar cycling to taiwan along the coast today. But I can't catch a break with the hills.



Still feeling very tired despite having 12 hours sleep so had to cut the distance short.



A man gave me tomato juice and a black coffee. Not my first choices but thankful nonetheless.

Downhills are meant to be enjoybale but if you look at the elevation chart this one wasn't haha!



All in all a tough day, I felt pretty exhausted at some points but hoping an early night will do the trick. Camping in a kids playground lol, but its pretty rural just next to roadside station so should be

Headed into the mountains today. The first hour was just flat heading directly for the hills in the distance which built up the nerves. I saw snow at 300m yesterday so I had no clue what it would be like at 600m. Whether it would be a snow blizzard or absolutely fine. Either way I knew it would be cold

Today I went through a little mountain range and saw bascially nobody for a couple of hours. Really nice roads though.

This morning was very cold when I first started riding but when I got into it I ended up taking off most my layers.
