KBSA Appoints Coach Song Yong-ju of Sekwang Middle School as Leader of the Asian Youth Baseball Tournament (U-15)
Song Yong-joo, head coach of Sekwang Middle School in North Chungcheong Province, has been appointed as the head coach of the U-15 youth baseball team to be dispatched to the 11th Asian Youth Baseball Tournament (under 15).
The Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA) officially announced on the 10th, "We have appointed Song Yong-ju, head coach of Sekwang Middle School, as the coach of the Asian Youth Baseball Tournament to be held in Haehae, China in August."
The association recruited applicants through open recruitment and confirmed Song Yong-joo, who was highly evaluated for leadership and game management skills, as the head coach of the U-15 youth baseball team on the 27th of last month.
Song Yong-joo, who will lead the U-15 youth baseball national team, joined the Ssangbangwool Raiders through Sekwang Middle School and Sekwang High School, and has been working as a leader at his alma mater, Sekwang Middle School, since 2013.
Sekwang Middle School in Chungcheongbuk-do won the first Baekho-ki National Junior Baseball Tournament and the U-15 National Youth Baseball Tournament in 2022 under the guidance of head coach Song Yong-ju, and this year, it once again topped the 70th National Junior Baseball Championship.
In addition, the association selected 18 players, including Kim Dong-young (Segwang Middle School 3) and Park Ki-won (Segwang Middle School 3), who won the best player award at the 70th National Middle School Championships, at a meeting of the Performance Improvement Committee held on the 4th.
Meanwhile, the association, which has completed the formation of the team, will begin preparing to dispatch the U-15 youth national team after domestic reinforcement training.
