Half of the valley walk is in the open hills where we faced fierce headwinds. The path is an ever stretching dirtroad with magificent views. After the turn you follow the tarmac road back. There is hardly any traffic there. Don't let the statistics fool you; it is 14 km and took us 3 hours with a
2 parts in this walk. Up to the start of the South Tyne trail the views are magnificent but it is tlong stretch of tarmac for a çouple of kilometers followed by a dirt road. After the turn you finally walk alongside the Tyne river to slowly make your way back. This is the part making it worth while
Beautifull scenery, but ruined by commerce. Pay for parking, pay for a walk passing the stream and pay again for the small village with the mills that have been converted to an amusement parc with mainly appartement and expensive restaurants. It sounded a lot more attractive then it turned out to be
