The easy last day! Nice country roads with beautiful countryside views. A quick lunch at sittkoffska.ax/eng-fin and then it was time to go back home.

The road from Mariehamn to Järsö is incredible. Probably the most beautiful road in Åland if not in the whole Finland. At the end of the road there's a nice café and Järsö nature trail. I stayed at Brobacka Gästhem and it was one of the best guest houses I've stayed at in Åland.

This day was full of sights and good food! Kastelholm Castle is one of my favorite places in Åland and I recommend you to visit there. Stallhagen pub serves great lunch and good beer fo people who like locally brewed beer. Brobacka Gästhem has a beautiful garden and delicious baked goods.

This day includes the ferry trips so the cycling part is only 41km long. You'll find the timetable for the ferries from saaristolautat.fi . Föglö and Kumlinge islands are great for cycling and enjoying that archipelago atmosphere.

I took it easy after travelling the whole day. The first thing to do when arriving to Mariehamn is eating Åland pancake of course! Visit Bagarstugan for the best Åland pancake in Mariehamn. The only goal was to cycle to the B&B. Easy ride with enjoyable views!

We made it!

We finally arrived to Nuorgam where the northernmost point of Finland and the European Union is located.

What could we say? We felt overwhelmed and drained at the same time as this month really was an adventure of a lifetime. There were both emotional and physical obstacles that we had to overcome

We didn't want to push it all the way to the end so we decided to cycle only 30km to Utsjoki, the northernmost municipality of Finland. There's a camping area in the center of Utsjoki. The grocery store and other services have limited opening ours so remember that if you plan to visit Utsjoki.

The most beautiful road in Finland. Tenontie or road no. 970 follows the Teno river and offers some steep hills but also lots of breathtaking landscapes. We were tired and slow but enjoyed the peacefulness and nature around us.

We were warned about this section to be very hilly but we didn't expect it to be this hard! Very steep uphills and downhills that really make you sweat. Camping Tenonrinne in Karigasniemi is a nice camping area with friendly staff, good facilities and a very good sauna.

The road from Ivalo to Inari is so beautiful! Blue skies and clear waters made us wonder how amazing our home country is. The Café Sininen Fillari (Blue Bicycle in english) is a cyclist friendly café and accommodation after Inari. They also serve excellent breakfast that costs 10e per person.

These short days made us really enjoy our time and rest properly. After Saariselkä we had another easy day cycling towards Ivalo. Ivalo River Camping has a new maintenance building with a laundry room and the facilities are in great condition. They also have the best sauna we've been for a while and

We wanted to spend our day off in Saariselkä so from Vuotso we cycled only 40km north to make it there. In Saariselkä we spoiled ourselves, stayed in a hotel and visited a spa. The next day we went mountain biking and we must say that Saariselkä has some really good trails for MTB.

The heat wave had no signs for letting up so we got some company, horse-flies! They were all the time around us and only in downhills we were able to shake them off. It was something we had never been through and it was really tough on our nerves.

From Vajusuvanto Camping we continued our journey and

We stayed the midsummer night at the Vajusuvanto camping area, which is a little old fashioned but still had enough facilities for our needs. Happy Midsummer!

Pyhätunturi was definitely one of the highlights! We had only visited here during winter and were amazed to be there by a tandem bike. In Pyhä you can take a chair lift to the top of the fell to enjoy the views and the peaceful atmosphere of the summer season. In the wintertime it's one of the nicest place to ski!
