We parked the car at the castle in Waldeck and walked about 1.1 km down to the lake. Just behind the beach house is the passenger boat dock. We bought a ticket to Scheid for €7 and drove across. From there, we hiked about 15 km to Waldeck. The scenery was beautiful, with lots of forest.
