Ladybower-Hathersage-Abney-Hope-Circular

Starting at The Ladybower Reservoir (at Heatherdene) on the A6013, this route comprises of mostly small lanes with minimal busy roads. Two steep climbs and a gradual third climb but the views are exceptional and worth the effort. Toilets en-route at the start, in Hathersage and Hope and various pubs and cafes along the way.

Starting on the Tissington Trail car park at Hurdlow, this ride follows quiet roads and lanes to Hulme End cafe, Wetton Mill, Stanshope, Ilam and Thorpe before joining the Tissington Trail at Fenny Bentley and following the trail back up past Parsley Hey to the start point at Hurdlow. There are hills involved, some quite steep but not very long, and the route from joining the Tissington Trail at Fenny Bentley all the way back to Hurdlow is uphill (although very slight).

We navigated a few minor roads heading through the town centre to meet The Middlewood Way cycle path (by Tesco's on Black Lane).

from here, we rode the cycle route to High Lane when we had
