A journey to the starting point is possible, for example, with the Nordwestbahn to Borken.
The main destination of the tour leads to the market square in Winterswijk. The beautiful pedestrian zones are passable by bike. On the market square, right around the imposing church, there are nice gastronomy offers or on Saturdays (unfortunately it was canceled due to Corona) a nice market with good delicacies.
Through the beautiful nature, you continue to a self-service cafe or directly past a narrow path at Klostersee.
At the Pröbstingsee you could stop off nicely.
In Raesfeld there was a short, unplanned detour to the gas station. You can take it out of the tour.The goal was the bus stop at the town hall in Schermbeck. There are also gastronomic offers or a full-range supplier and bakery for shopping.Our journey took us from there by express bus in 20 minutes to Dorsten, the starting point of the trip. The tour is offered 1: 1 from the Duisburg Landscape Park as a guided tour. It first leads to a few stations within the landscape park, then goes over the Rhine dike towards Walsum. It then follows the change of the Rhine side with the ferry to Orsay. From there it's the more scenic side back over the Rhine bridge in Meiderich to the landscape park.The paths are not suitable for road bikes.There are few passages where there are bike paths along the road.Overall, a nice change between industrial culture and nature.The restaurants are limited to the brewery in Walsum and restaurants in Orsay.
