After a wonderful overnight stay in Grantown, we decided to go back to Aviemore via the road route to check out what the traffic would be like at rush hour. The traffic was definitely more than we had encountered the previous night, but just as last time, the cars, buses and trucks took reasonable care

I did that route. Are you doing the gravel track from Tomintoul to Braemar? It was beautiful but my rear wheel submerged in the bog a couple times. The hike/boggy section isn't too long.

After over a year of waiting, we finally reached Aviemore, a place we spent countless evenings dreaming about.
