A lovely circular route starting / finishing in Potten End where there is a shop, cafe and pub right next to the playground. Halfway round the walk is the Alford Arms, a very popular foodie pub.
The walk goes through woodland and across a couple of fields which may have horses in. A couple of short stretches
Easy mostly flat walk. Start / finish at Pitstone Memorial Hall (good parking, great playground and nice tea room). You go through a v narrow kissing gate into the first field - that is why this isn't pushchair friendly. The rest of the walk is across farmers fields. It can be muddy and uneven but is mostly flat.

A nice park in the centre of Hemel Hempstead with a nature trail stream to the North, splash park and lots of play equipment to the South.
Options to park at Gadebridge Lane car park HP1 1LS (free) or Queensway HP1 1HR near the splash park and play equipment (60p/ hr or £2.70 all day).
