Started this with known route from Freiburg via Schönberg to Wittnau Ruhewald then used Komoot from there to Horben. Then bus back to Freiburg. The Ruhewald is as you’d expect a peaceful resting place and very beautiful. A gentle walk but don’t expect to find a place serving a beer in Horben. Buses to

A decent walk including a “Panoramaweg” where presumably the Blick auf die Alpen was meant to be seen. However, much tree planting has been done since the “weg” was named and there is sadly very little Blick to be enjoyed. Nice forest walk though!

A fine circuit from Freiburg - tram 3 or bus 11 to Vauban Innsbrucker Str a good start. Schönberg is a great vantage point and don’t miss the few extra metres up to Ruine Schneeburg with its views. Komoot tried to take us on a perilous path on the way down. Follow the well marked trail if in doubt (mostly yellow diamond).
