Cross from Ostilgia over the bridge and head along the Po's southern flat levee banks.
The path in this leg is tough going for trailers as it is a mix of gravel, tarmac and potholes.
The scenery is agricultural and it is great to see the villages and churches right along the levee banks.

To drain the kids of energy, there are a few playgrounds just on the path out of town.
Following the Sun Path Velo Cyclo 7 we were surprised to have to ride on a busier road and then a rough mountain path. Our Thule bike trailers got through (just) to the amusement of some mountain bikers.

Returning back to the Euro Velo 7, several kms along you will come to a playground, perfect for a morning play.
Some great agricultural landscapes on this segment, including old farmhouses and barns.
Detour off the path (along quiet agricultural road) to Saeve where there are cafes for coffee and smoothies

After a "rest" day at Gardaland, join the crowds departing from Lake Garda to Mantua. (Many people do the one way leg as a day trip and shuttle back, so its a busy route.) This means the path is well signed and managed.
After leaving the town, follow the Po into farmland. Take a detour up a short climb

A fun day out today!
Heading out of Roverteo keep an eye out for the counter of total cyclists who have passed that point. There is also Zenzero gelato shop or a fancy bicigrill for morning cappuccino.

Before you start your ride, there is a great playground next to the museum.
Unfortunately out of Trento the Sun Route path was being upgraded and is detoured through a small town, including some road riding and gravel. This may change soon.
There is cafes and a big playground in the township of Mattarello

Rejoin the Sun Route and enjoy the ride through vineyards and orchards. The hills are particularly spectacular here.
The path takes a slight detour from the river up a slight hill to the town of Lavis. We were too nervous to reach the centre of town via the busy road, so locked our bikes at the bridge

Rejoin the smooth bike path and head south along some levee banks.
Detour into the town of Salorno which has a fantastic playground definitely worth the slight climb and mostly quiet road to get there.Also in town is a good ice cream shop.
Afterwards return back to the bike path until you reach the Bike

Peddle out of Bolzano along the safe and busy riverside path. Stop at one of the five playgrounds scattered over a few kilometres along the path! A great place to burn energy before you hit the road (or even a great destination for little riders from town).

Follow the Velo 8 path along the levee bank.
Detour into Bondeneo for a lovely play at the playground, whilst you sit at the nearby cafe with coffee.
There's a small portion on a busy road before you turn off onto 20km of beautiful, shady path. The path is seperate from the road and leads you through farmland
