On the 3rd of May still loads of snow, so did an alternative route instead of climbing the peak. Well trodded path, lovely hut half way.

Alternative for the Juliana Trail if the river is too high to cross: the paved bike path, over an old train track. But this trail along the river is stunning and quiet.

Beautiful trip, very well marked, good paths, varying from river crossing, but certainly not "heavy". Difficulty is subjective, but moderate fitness is fine for this trek.
