A mostly level, unpaved path. In places only a foot-wide path with grass on either side. A lot of crushed stone, some packed, clay soil, and a section of cobblestone, a third the size of my fist. This made me glad to have a suspension seat post.
There were only a couple of steep sections, easily walkable, near dams.
