Trek Y33: Ein legendäres Bike
Pivot Shadowcat: geschmeidig, agil, schnell, spassig
Charakteristik meiner Touren:
0: Keine Schwierigkeiten - Asphaltierte Strasse

After having to shorten last weekend's tour due to icy trails in the upper section, this time I planned the route to primarily stay in the lower part of the Leitha Mountains. All the trails there were easily rideable!
It was still exciting, though, because right at the start I took a path that wasn't

After the tour on the border trail at the beginning of December, the Shadowcat was so filthy that it needed a thorough cleaning/service. So I spent the last three weeks disassembling the bike down to the frame and suspension fork, cleaning it, re-greasing it, and reassembling it. Now the bike purred

After last weekend's rather strenuous tour in the Leitha Mountains, I only wanted to do a short loop this time and thought the wind farm behind Neusied/Gols/Mönchhof would be perfect – perfect.
However, the ground conditions were no better than in the Leitha Mountains. It was particularly dirty where

The goal of the tour was to find a route from Donnerskirchen to Eisenstadt that's easier to ride than the "border trail" between Lower Austria and Burgenland, which is also part of the long-distance hiking trail 02. This easier option does exist, namely at the foot of the Leitha Mountains. I've ridden

Under ideal winter touring conditions, I explored the area west of Donnerskirchen. The temperature was 3°C, there was no wind, and the ground was soft but not muddy. The first section of the trail I took already showed strong signs of becoming overgrown. It was still rideable, but some brambles snagged

Actually, I'm not really a winter person: I'm constantly cold in winter and long for summer and sunshine, except when biking. Winter (at least here in Burgenland) has many advantages: 1. The mosquitoes and other insect pests are gone. 2. The weeds that completely overrun many paths in the Leitha Mountains

It's a nice, officially permitted and marked tour, divided into two parts: approximately 50% is asphalt, the other 50% consists of pleasant trails, forest paths, and logging roads. Due to the high proportion of asphalt, the tour is also easily rideable in wetter conditions.

Autumn can conjure up beautiful atmospheres, and we were able to experience just that on this tour. The trees had only just shed a few leaves, and the entire forest was ablaze with yellow, gold, and red colors. The air itself was exceptionally clear, and on the Buchkogel, we had a view like we'd rarely

There's a trail center in Mauerbach just outside Vienna, but I didn't visit it. I decided to take a tour through the Vienna Woods in the beautiful autumnal conditions. The idea for this tour came from @Dagmar, whom I'd like to thank sincerely at this point. I had to shorten her tour a bit, though. 1

As great as January was for biking last year, this year it was a complete washout! Yes, you could put on studded tires and ride on icy roads, but the risk of slipping is still quite high. It's better to go skiing, because skis are built for snow, bikes less so.
However, the above-freezing temperatures
