Day 18 was My last day In Sardegna before heading home and was going to be my longest day. Leaving Sant'Antioco i passed through a closed road through the salt flats which were beautiful. Started off with a slight rin so decided to wait 40 minute till it passed and the clear sky arrived. Once set out again I followed the amazing coastline through windy roads with ups and downs which were perfect. Once passed the southern point the views changed and turned into mostly flat and passing through industrial areas. But finally made it to the port in Cagliari where I'd take the ferry back to Naples.

Day 17 was a nice easy day. Explored the whole Island and didn a mix of paved a dirt roads. But mostly paved. It was a beautiful Island with some amazing views and coastlines. The beaches were also amazing. The west side and south point were beautiful. I was lucky with the weather that all the rain clouds missed me.

Day 16 was one of my last days. I had a wonderful time in Fluminimaggiore. Really a beautiful little town. Leaving it I followed a side street to the coastline and from there followed the coastline on paved roads. Reaching Buggerru was the first big climb passing through the town. Once a the top the views were great. Followed by a nice descent I reached the beach of Cala Domestica which was really beautiful. From there the long climb started. and the last kilometer was the toughest. But once to the top you have the same % of downhill and you get up to speed quickly. The descent is beautiful riding through the valley and you exit along the coastline again. From there I followed the coastline which was absolutely beautiful. At the end of the descent I started the dirt road to cut through. It was a nice section but did have it's nice short climbs. After I got back to the road it was a strait push to reach Sant'Antioco through some industrial areas and flat roads. Once at Sant'Antioco I was going to stay there for 3 days to explore it and to have a rest day to ovoid the rain.

Day 15 was a day I was looking forward too. I was going to pass through and old abandoned mining area which looked amazing. Leaving Oristano the first part leaving the city was flat and nothing great. Once passed the old bridge is where the fun started. You follow the paved road up and down the hills along the coastline till you start climbing u and over the mountain. Once passed the top you follow along the beautiful mountain range till you get to the town Montevecchio. Once there you'll follow a gravel road through the old abandoned mining area. This is a long section but absolutely beautiful. So much to explore and see. The gravel road is nice with a few sections a bit washed out. This was my favorite part. Once passed you reach the old, almost abandoned, town of Ingurtosu where the paved road starts again. From there another short dirt road till you reach the paved road for the last haul. Thankfully downhill. This section was absolutely beautiful through the valley and trees. At the bottom I reached the small town of Fluminimaggiore which was a beautiful little town.

Day 14 was my favorite day of the whole trip. It was going to be the second longest day I think the fact that it was such a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky helped out but again the landscape and area were spectacular. Leaving Macomer I followed the road through the forest. This section was absolutely beautiful. Nice cold weather with the blue skies made it perfect. Once out of the trees you could see the whole landscape of where I'd be heading too. A beautiful section following the mountains through beautiful little towns. Mostly heading down through windy roads with spectacular views. The last section of the mountains before heading to the coastline was a absolutely fun downhill with very steep roads. Once along the coastline the dirt roads started. The first part was through the pine trees which was beautiful. a mix of sand and dirt. The rout passed through a private area where the owners didn't want me to pass so had to do a little detour. Not too mad though. Once back on the rout, I followed the road for a bit before turning back into dirt road. This section was going to be a long one but absolutely beautiful. Following the cliffs along the sea with a mix of dirt and single track, you had options to choose which road to take, lead you to an amazing beach with quartz pebbles which were amazing. Here I had to go for a swim. After the swim I kept on following the dirt roads and explored a few towers and other beaches before heading into Oristano.

Day 13 was going to another great day. Started off a bit cold leaving Villanova but was a nice downhill paved section to start off with. I turned off an a side street which was supposed to gravel but was paved. Only a really short section was gravel. Followed this secondary road for a while which lead me over the mountains with some nice steep climbs followed by steep descents. The road lead me to a town called Littiri which i had a nice coffee. From there it was all paved following the road up through the valley to the top of the mountain. Amazing views all the way with easy climbs a nice descents. This section was really beautiful. Following the main rod for a while I finally turned off to a secondary road for the last section which was nice. Visited my first Nuraghe which was nice. You could also enter it. The last section to get into Macomer was the main road so nothing too great.

Day 12 was going to be an awesome day. I was really looking forward to this section. The first part of the rout was following the coastline through windy roads with some climbs and great downhill. The views along this route were amazing. Will keep you motivated. At the end passed through this little town called Bosa which had a beautiful Castle called Castello del Serravalle. I didn't make it up to explore it but next time. From there I had a very long climb but was just the right grade to make it pleasant. Nicely paved and few cars. Once on the top the downhill was nice passing by the small town of Montresta. From there I took a very secondary road which was a mix of pave and a bit of gravel. Didn't see a car or anyone in this last section which was great. Nice windy road and towards the end a nice punchy climb to get into Villanova Monteleone. Found myself a nice B&B and went for a beer just in time for the rain to started.

Day 11 was one of the longest days of my trip. Leaving Sorso I headed down along the coastline and followed it passed Porto Torres. Arriving into the city it was really beautiful. But once passed it, it was industrial and nothing special. On my way to Stintino, I cut across a gravel section which was nice, but still a bit muddy from the rain the day before. Getting into Stintino there was a nice bike path. Getting to the point and seeing the other small islands and Asinara Island was beautiful. From there It was all paved road till I got to Alghero with a few ups and downs. Got myself a nice B&B and enjoyed a nice beer looking at the first sunset of my trip.
