泰山 - Mount Tai

Watch out for your knees, there are lots of stairs up to the mountain. Very nice views, if you're tired, you can also take the cable car up to the top from the middle (中天门).

Beautiful views of nature, fascinating rocks formations, many monkeys too! Highly recommend if you love walking through nature! Ground is paved with stones, be careful of slippery rocks, take mosquito spray and a sweat towel. Sadly the trail to YaoZiZhai (鹞子寨) was closed, so we took the relaxing path along the river to JinBianXi(金鞭戏). The path to HuangShiZhai (黄石寨) is basically lots of stairs, but the view is absolutely worth the climb!

From 3600m to 4220m and back. Guided hiking tour. Most hiking trails in the Tibetan mountains need a tour guide. Even though it was cloudy, the views were stunning.

Hiked only a section of the Tiger Leaping Gorge, due to a landslide after Tina's guesthouse at the Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge. The organised Tour let us hop off the bus earlier, to hike the trail, while the more inexperienced hikers started to hike a bit later. 17.08.2025

Quite peaceful, away from most of the tourist hot spots! Even though the touristy areas close to the cable cars (temples/ water falls) are a bit full, there are only a few people taking the path on the mountain. The views are awesome, and the path is nicely paved with stones. Mostly flat surface, easy to walk. Walking from the Ancient City to the cable car at ZhongHe Temple (中和寺) took about 30mins. There aren't many people there, compared to the other touristy cable cars. Had to buy a one-way ticket up to the Temple, because the ticket office for the hiking trail up the Temple wouldn't sell us a ticket, due to the "dangerous" path. So if you cannot get a hiking ticket, it's recommended to take the one-way cable car up to the Temple, then start walking from there! Walking down the mountain is recommended, I thought it was very nice, since there weren't many people around, and you don't have to pay to take the cable car down the mountain. For one person, it costs about 65¥ (苍山park entrance ticket 35¥ + 30¥ one-way cable car) 2025.08.15
