I took the tour twice, and changed it on the second day. Coming out of the forest north of Medingen, I turned North and followed the lane, turning Southeast after 350 m, and continued to Bruchtorf. That avoids a rather boring 2 km on a concrete footpath along a busy road from Medingen to Bruchtorf. Instead
