Just before point 9 there is a small footpath with lots of stairs which joins just after point 10. I saw it too late, it's a nice shortcut without cars and in the countryside.

A very pleasant hike with superb views from the Petit to Grand Mont-Rond.
But it's not Expert level, only intermediate; there were little children happily doing it.
