I treated myself to a new bike and had to try it out between two showers today.

I told my wife about the tour that she wanted to drive it too. It's always fun.

So today it was the turn of the last stage of our Weserradweg adventure. It went home from Glückstadt, so it actually has nothing to do with the actual Weser cycle path, but you have to go home ;-)
In order not to make the route too long, we drove the direct route, which led to many kilometers of county, state and federal roads. ergo the route wasn't too nice, but we had that in the days before.
From Neumünster on, our friend had the rain on us again. but since we had expected it, we had already put on rain gear anyway, and if it just goes home, that doesn't matter anymore. At least we got home happy, satisfied and without a breakdown.
We liked the Weserradweg very much, even if the weather in the second part didn't play along as we would have liked. I was particularly taken with the section through the Weser Uplands. I can only recommend it to everyone.

The penultimate day of our bike tour and the end of the Weserradweg was announced today. Finally good weather again, bright to cloudy and hardly any wind. What more do you want. We drove through beautiful landscapes to the Cuxhaven-Brunsbüttel ferry, which we reached so punctually that we only had to wait 15 minutes. The pot was jam-packed.
Then we continued on the Elbe Cycle Path to Glückstadt. Great little town that you should definitely visit. If you want to spend the night here, I recommend the Hotel Christian IV. It's not cheap, but the food and the rooms are very good and the staff is super friendly and attentive. The first 🍺 was even available on the house.
Unfortunately, rain is forecast for tomorrow, but it's “only” going home. It doesn't matter how and when you arrive.

Today we finally had a little luck again. Most of the roads were very good and the rainy areas only grazed us. Now and then the sun even showed itself. Splendid!
Otherwise it was a nice tour that led for a long time along dikes, where many small picturesque houses stood. Oh yes, the wind was still often coming from the front, but not as strong as yesterday.
The ferry from Nordenham to Bremerhaven runs every 20 minutes, so there are no long waiting times and at € 4.20 per person including bike it is not expensive.
The next ferries will come tomorrow.

Today we continued on our adventure Weserradweg. Fortunately, the surfaces we had to ride on got better again. Unfortunately, the rain also played a role today, rain gear on, off, on…. But towards the end it got dry and even the sun flashed through the clouds once or twice.
Unfortunately, the weather was pretty bad when we drove through Verden, so we could only catch a glimpse of the city. But it seems to be very pretty about the Aller.
From Achim onwards, the route became much more interesting again, and the highlight was certainly the entrance to Bremen. Then it went for kilometers on the dike directly on the Weser, which otherwise could hardly be seen today. Nice views of the water and the Stast were offered to us. Look beautiful!
Now we have another day off in Bremen, where we will have a look at the old town and the Schnoor district, and a harbor tour is also on the program.
Then the next day follows the stage to Bremerhaven. We're looking forward to it.

Today has been the hardest part of the tour so far. It started with the fact that we had a lot of wind. Fortunately, it rarely came from the front, more from the side and sometimes from behind. After we had celebrated the beautiful city center of Nienburg with a nice 🍺, the rain started for the second part. Unfortunately the rain got heavier towards the end, but we already knew that from yesterday.
The route from the Weser cycle path on this section is quite adventurous. You have the feeling that you are being led to your destination in a zigzag, so often you had to turn.
In addition, nothing was left of the great asphalt stretches in Hesse and south of Hameln. It was very often over cobblestones, poor flagstone paths, broken streets and similar underground. Wasn't that nice. But the Thöles Hotel in Bücken is fantastic. We are excited to see what else will come tomorrow.

After a relaxing day of relaxation in beautiful Hameln, the next stage was off. Up to Rinteln, which surprised us with a very beautiful old town, everything was relaxed. Then unfortunately there was heavy rain and a lot of headwind. But what do we cyclists say: rain gear on and through.
After we had waited for the rest of the rain with a warming coffee at an ice cream parlor, we went to Petershagen via beautiful paths. Shortly after Minden we had to shelter again, but then we arrived happily after having slalomed for what felt like 3.28 million nudibranchs after the rain. Let's see what tomorrow has in store for us.

2nd day of the Weser Cycle Path:
Today we went again in the best weather from Beverungen via Höxter with the great Corvey Castle to Holzminden, where the first 🍺 was held. A really great bike path over smooth asphalt without cars, almost always along the banks of the Weser. Fantastically beautiful.
We went on to Bodenwerder, where a beautiful 🍦 was waiting for us. Then the last part over paved bike paths to Hameln, where we will now enjoy a nice day of rest.

Yesterday we had to travel by car because the railway was hit by strikes. Despite the diversion due to traffic jams, everything went well.
Today our adventure Weserradweg began. From Kassel we went along the Fulda cycle path (great route) to Hann in great weather. Münden, where, as is well known, the Weserstein stands and marks the beginning of the Weser. Then we drove two river crossings to Beverungen. Unfortunately, this place is not a pearl on the Weser, and that is still boasted. But it is on the way between Kassel and Hameln, where we definitely want to stop.
Tomorrow we continue along the river via Höxter and Holzminden to Hameln. Hopefully the weather stays that way.
