Today, Marienberg Monastery was on our program. It is an imposing structure, visible from a great distance. It was built by Benedictine monks over 900 years ago and is still used by this order today.
We wanted to get a few visual impressions and visit the much-praised new monastery café. All worthwhile

The temperatures above 30 degrees in Mals prompted us to drive a bit higher to do a short, not very strenuous hike. The loop around the Haidersee was just the thing for this. Three to four degrees cooler, close to the water, mostly a light, pleasant wind and easy to walk.
We particularly enjoyed the many

Despite the summer heat of up to 30 degrees, we set off on a small hike: the Sunnseitenweg from St. Peter to Sankt Magdalena. This path runs parallel to the panoramic path we walked a few days earlier, just one level lower, so to speak, and leads directly into the village.
A beautiful, recommendable path

Today a tour that is very different in terms of landscape: on forest paths to a waterfall. Occasional views of the opposite side of the valley with St. Valentin, St. Jakob and St. Peter. So everything is quite holy.
We were accompanied by a concert of numerous bird voices such as blackcap, chiffchaff

Another extremely beautiful mountain hike. In humid, hot weather, it is still most bearable at an altitude of almost 2000 meters.
Meadows like carpets of flowers lined our path and again offered great views of the mountains. Above all, the Peitlerkofel and its neighbor, the small Peitlerkofel, caught

"It was a nice little tour today," we said to each other afterwards. And we didn't meet any other hikers - amazing. The landscape and the views are always great.
We stayed at the Oberpiskoihof (picture 20) during a holiday 40 years ago. Crazy!
Because of the thunderstorms announced for the afternoon

Yesterday we arrived in the Villnöss Valley and today we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather for a hike across the alpine pastures at the foot of the Geisler peaks. It was a very beautiful tour with the start and end at the Zanser Alm parking lot.
Here on Komoot, the route is split

See the previous hike from Zans to Glatsch-Alm.
Beautiful is the variety of blooming mountain flowers: alpine rose, spring gentian, alpine primrose, globe-flower, yellow buttercup etc. Very very beautiful!

To conclude our stay on La Gomera, we opted for this circular hike in the La Laja valley. The weather cooperated, even though it looked overcast at higher altitudes around the Roques.
The drive there is a bit tricky, as the road is very narrow and winding. You're lucky if you don't encounter any oncoming

We were lucky with the weather for our little coastal hike today: mostly sunny, still strong gusty winds, but pleasant temperatures and pretty good visibility towards Tenerife and Teide. Impressive views and fascinating rock formations in shape and color characterize this trail. It ends more or less

Today, on the way to San Sebastian, we did a short hike around and up Garajonay. Unfortunately, there were no distant views. But the vegetation along the trail is always lovely. Despite the less than ideal weather, there were quite a few hikers out. Parking spaces were scarce.

Third time's the charm! Today we finally made it – a hike up in Garajonay National Park. It was foggy again today, so the cloud forest was living up to its name. But thankfully, there was no rain, and the temperature was a pleasant 15 degrees Celsius.
We thoroughly enjoyed the hike. The abundance of wildflowers

The weather was good in the valley. What it was like up high – who knows? There was no shortage of dark clouds there. We decided to hike along the old aqueduct. Once a classic in the valley, it's no longer listed in the hiking guides. So you're pretty much alone on it. The route itself has a few tricky
