The last day of my Pyrenees crossing.

In a few hours, I'll be dipping my toes into the Mediterranean.

On the one hand, I just want to finish the crossing now, and on the other hand, I want to continue in this mode for a long time.



Today I'm running almost the entire route on forest roads, ordering a guard dog to give way

I take a lunch break at the Moulin de la Palette, drink my caffeine boost of coffee and cola, let my wet tent dry, and curiously watch the owner preparing/preserving chestnuts for the winter while listening to a podcast. I love participating in everyday situations.



The shell is dried to be used as fuel

After packing my tent and slinging my backpack, I enter the Refuge Batère after a three-minute hike to drink a hot coffee in the warm living room.

For me, this is the last mountain, after which it's down towards the Mediterranean.



The route is super relaxed, and the last part through the chimney has a real alpine feel, very close to pleasure climbing.



At the Refuge des Cortalets

I'm awakened by a spectacular sunrise. I have to preserve moments like these when I'm feeling like I'm going crazy at home.

By 8:30 a.m., there was no sign that a tent had been set up here last night.



I couldn't resist the temptation to have a coffee and something to eat, so I took a long breakfast break at the Hotel Les Bones Hores and treated myself to a delicious and generous sandwich for €4.50.



That did me a world of good

In the morning, the panorama, complete with gift ribbons, more than compensates for the cold night.



After the Coll de Coma d'Anyell, a valley opens up to me, the likes of which I've never seen before in the Pyrenees.



Open, wide, lovely, gently undulating, and on the horizon, my imposing goal for today
