There is no access under th3 funicular as gate padlocked so you have to go back the way you come up

When you go through heavens gate, we walked straight down the hill, tackled it from left hand side. It was quite overgrown but doable if you are foot Hardy. Start at the bull.arms and be rewarded with a pint on your return.
Amazing views of longleat House and the lake.
