Delightful easy-going ride into the Welsh hills on quiet single-track lanes. There is a car park at the start.

Easy-going ride up the Cwm Pennant Valley in North Wales, suitable for families. It is a single-track lane that terminates at the head of the valley and consequently is very quiet. Return the same way. Park in the lane opposite Dolbenmaen church. There is good walking at the head of the valley. No eateries or conveniences on this route.

Could be started anywhere on the route. Ideal lunch spot is Red Wharf Bay, which means most of ride (ie 8 miles) would be before lunch, but direction could be reversed. Eateries at Red Wharf Bay include:

The Boathouse specialising in seafood, 01248 852731 to book, open daily.

The Ship open daily, pub food, 01248852568.

Eateries half way round at Porth Swtan:

The Lobster Pot, majors on seafood - pricy but worth it. "As our opening times vary during the season it is best to give us a call on 01407 730241." Looks like usually does lunch except Sundays, but booking probably advisable.

The Wavecrest Cafe looks great and
