This was a fabulous walk, even on a cloudy day. I highly recommend this route up to Skiddaw as you can enjoy a more gradual ascent via Ullock Pike, and the wonderful ridge walk across Longside Edge. The final Skiddaw ascent is steep scree, so I wouldn't advise doing this route in reverse for the slip risk.
