I had to go to the hairdresser and quickly cycled from Blankenstein to the Ruhrpark - and it's amazing how green the route is and how little road you have to drive. Start is - as always with me - at the market place in Blankenstein, see highlight there.

This tour could also be called “Middle Ages <-> Future”, as it goes through historic Blankenstein and along the towpath of the Ruhr, as well as directly through the university - even in one of the most unlikely places.

The tour leads through the beautiful hill country behind Hattingen, which is hardly inferior to the Allgäu.
