Fairly dull road walking. Thankfully good company. Limäo Rosa restaurant on the way was good food and excellent value!

Quite a lot of road to get out of Coimbra but the bits of countryside that happened later were glorious

A stroll into Coimbra. Can’t get over the fact that they smashed through an aqueduct to put a road through!

Nice riverside route out of Tomar, lovely country villages, took the alternative route to see the Visigoth graves

A few nice sandy/gravel tracks, but much alongside roads - quiet roads though. A lovely arrival into Tomar: views, Aqueduct, and a downhill stroll down to the centre

Day 7 - Camino Portugués
The route from Minde to Fatima is glorious - lovely tracks surrounded by trees and wind turbines. Fatima is a mecca! The later part of the day was necessity to reach our accommodation so just alongside roads - not much fun!

Varied terrain, lovely views, charming small towns, the climb towards the end was wonderful!

Day 5 - Camino Portugués
A brief diversion for a few days to follow the Fatima route. Much more undulating after days of flat, scenery improving. Still too much road walking though

Day 2 - Camino Portugués
Long and flat, lots of boardwalks, beside water almost all the way (except 2km along a busy road and a detour up a hill to a church) - lovely birdlife, especially passing a short section of reeds with a variety of different warblers.

Day 1 - Camino Portugués
An afternoon start after travelling into Lisbon in the morning. Very few way marks in the first few miles, better once outside of the city centre. Lots of road walking in the suburbs, nice to hit the waterfront in the last couple of miles.
