Not the best place to start this walk, the public path is impassable unless you want to be covered in crap for the rest of the walk. The start is through an area occupied by cows so is calf ( excuse the pun) deep in crap and sodden with water, mud and shite. Had to retreat back to main road and divert

This is not for the faint hearted its hard going from start to finish. From Rowen up padtvthe YHA and onto the Roman Road is steep and hard work fitness is a decent level then from the roman road to the summit is through 2' heather and gorse and no paths anywhere, so a real test of stamina and leg strength
