The Teufelsstieg is the hardest ascent to the Brocken. The hike begins in Elendstal and goes uphill on the Bode on a well-developed forest path to the Schnacherklippen. It goes downhill past the Mäuseklippe to Schierke to the Excellency Path along the cold Bode, over the next bridge on the right through the Schluftwiesen. After crossing the street, the ascent through the Eckerloch to the Brocken begins. The path leads along the Schwarzen Schluftwasser over the tracks of the Brockenbahn to the Eckerloch hut. The Eckerlochstieg ends at Brockenstrasse. The Teufelsstieg continues on the circular path up past the Brockengarten, Teufelskanzel and witch altar. The descent to Bad Harzburg takes place on the Heinrich-Heine-Weg, a former Kollonenweg on the so-called protective strip (now the Harzer Grenzweg on the Green Belt). After 3.5 km you will reach the ranger station on Scharfenstein, then continue on forest paths to the Eckertalsperre. Further into the Eckertal and the Braunschweiger Weg uphill to the Molkenhaus. From there over the Ettersklippe to the HarzWaldHaus. The destination of the hike is Bad Harzburg.

A varied hike through the cliff landscape east of the Brocken. It leads us over the Trudenstein, the Hohnekamm with the bear, bar and border cliffs as well as the Ahrensklint and the flint cliff. Forests, high moors, small and large granite blocks line the path.
Due to the difference in altitude of 380m over 11.5km, the tour is quite demanding. The effort is amply rewarded: with the impressive natural landscape of the Harz National Park and great views in good weather.

The hike takes us on part of the path of the German emperors and kings from Wernigerode to Blankenburg. There is a lot to discover along the way: from Wernigerode Castle to the Büchenberg show mine and the Michaelstein Monastery Foundation. And nature lovers don't miss out either: the hike leads through the Harz forests and along the way, many great views invite you to linger.
On the hike, we cover ascents totaling around 540 meters in altitude - and descents as well. At 22km, it is quite a long route, which - with the exception of the steepest section to the Agnesberg at the beginning of the hike - is also very suitable for cyclists.

Wonderful way from Wernigerode to Ilsenburg.
High nature factor: the first section leads along a nature trail, wonderful views, meadows, valleys, streams and ponds.
High cultural factor: We hike to the Himmelspforte, optionally via Drübeck Abbey and Ilsenburg Abbey, to Ilsestein and to Plessenburg. High enjoyment factor: wonderful views, seating, gastronomy along the way, peace and quiet.

he Eckerlochstieg is the steepest path from Schierke up to the Brocken, but it is also one of the most beautiful and popular Brockenzashen. On the approx. 6.5km to the Brocken summit we will overcome a height of 530m. We recommend sturdy footwear for the path, which is rich in stones and roots, and in some cases also has footbridges. From the Brocken summit we can take the Brocken Railway back to Schierke.
When planning a hike on the Brocken, the extreme weather conditions prevailing there should be considered. The climate corresponds to an Alpine location at an altitude of 1,600 to 2,200 m or the climate of Iceland. There is a blanket of snow on the Brocken for around 176 days and the temperatures on the mountain are still below 0 ° C for 85 days a year.

From the tourist information office, follow the signs over the Kinogasse to the Panoramapark / Kurpark Lam. Here it goes on an agricultural path next to the panorama park down to the farm at the Ginglmühle, where the hiking path joins a street. Turn right and straight over the roundabout to Frahelsbruck. The La7 runs alongside the street on the sidewalk. Before the road climbs steeply in Frahelsbruck, turn left onto a narrower road that ends after approx. 300m and continues as a forest path. On a bridge you cross the White Rain and continue on the forest road through an underpass. Immediately behind it the path meets the Lamer Winkel-Arber cycle path, turn right here. After the short ascent of approx. 100m, cross the railroad track at an open crossing and continue to follow the signs for La7. Now there is a steep ascent on a forest path up to the Trailling farm. However, the path does not lead directly to the courtyard, but joins the street about 300m from the Einödhof that connects the individual courtyards. After turning left here, stay on the gently rising road and soon you can see the next remote farm, Vorderöd, to which a gravel path leads. When you arrive at the farm, the path continues to the left as a beautiful meadow path to the Hinteröd farm. Past this farm, the narrow path leads briefly downhill into a wooded area, where a small stream is crossed on a bridge with a votive plaque. The rooty path meanders through the forest until it joins the road that leads to the Hinterwaldeck remote farm. Below the courtyard, the road or hiking trail La7 and La6 runs in the direction of Einödhof Vorderwaldeck. Shortly before Vorderöd, turn left onto a forest path, which leads into the valley via the district of Lissen and back to the starting point via the communal connection road. The house chapels at all forest farms are worth seeing. Refreshments and regional delicacies are available at the farms Vorderöd, Hinteröd and Hinterwaldeck

From the tourist information office, turn right down Arberstrasse for around 300m until the “Im Moos” road branches off to the left. After about 100m you have reached the sign tree in “Moos”, follow the markings uphill, past the golf course until you come to the panorama path (La2). There a road branches off to the right and following the signs, past Marterln and Feldkreuz, you reach the edge of the forest via a field path with great views. Here you come across a forest road, stay on it until it ends. This is followed by the demanding ascent on a stony forest path. When the forest clears (signpost / sign tree), the Großer Osser is already in sight. Now the ascent follows the hut of the Lam mountain rescue service over the rocky summit ridge to the Großer Osser (1293m). After a stop at the Osserschutzhaus (directly on the border), the descent is much easier. When you get back down to the forest clearing (signpost / sign tree), you can already see the Künische Chapel, built in 1985/86 by the Lam Forest Association as a sign of the bond between Bavaria and Bohemia. From the sign tree, following the marking La1, the forest road continues downhill, past the Teufelstritt (rock with carved signs) to the Sattel hiking car park. Through the high forest downhill you reach the Maria Hilf mountain church. On an old, easily accessible path, it goes down towards Lam, past a group of death boards at the edge of the forest. Finally, you can return to the starting point via Lambacher Straße. This tour can also be done in the opposite direction.
