Very nice, but also very long hike. With two long breaks at the Matrashaus and the Mitterfeldalm, we were on the road from 6 a.m. to around 6 p.m. Consider wearing a helmet to protect yourself from falling rocks on the way to the Devil's Holes. A via ferrata set is not necessary and would not be useful

Beautiful, long, demanding hike. The ascent in the Traufbachtal over the Bettlerrücken leads across meadows. On wet ground this seems difficult/dangerous. In dry conditions it is trouble free and a very quiet/lonely climb. Highly recommended as an alternative to the very boring ascent to the Kemptner

Very beautiful and demanding hike. If you cycle to Einödsbach, you can save a lot of kilometers (there and back). A shorter/more direct route is also possible from the Waltenberger Haus. However, you miss a part of the "more exposed" Heilbronner way. If you plan to stay overnight at the Waltenberger
