Super chill ride today, mix of road and gravel, with some nice shoreline views. Honestly probably the flattest 50 miles you can do in California 😂. Zero stress, just spinning the legs and enjoying the scenery out to Dumbarton and back. Perfect recovery/laid-back route.

Diablo Loop – 101° Heat

Started at 168 lbs, finished nearly 10 lbs lighter from sweat alone. Parked at Artist Point (halfway up) and still felt the heat cooking me. Luckily, there was water on the route back to the car. The climb was a grind, but the descent? Pure fun.

Fog, Cleats, and Bathroom Karen What a day! The route started off super foggy, giving the Golden Gate area that eerie, cinematic vibe. About halfway in, I snapped a cleat grinding up the San Francisco hills, huge thanks to Roaring Mouse Cycles for getting me back on the road. Pro tip: park near Lookout Cove for easy access, but be warned, the Bay Area Discovery Museum bathroom attendant (“Bathroom Karen”) might have other ideas about who gets to use the facilities. I watched a steady stream of people walk in and out, yet somehow I was the one singled out? All that aside, the climb up was totally worth it and the descent on Conzelman Road was absolute perfection. Smooth, fast, and unforgettable.
