I use to remember that my dad was trying to let me sit on his road bike but I almost fell from the bike ... It left a bad taste in my mouth coz I thought I was gonna get hurt. Then and there I eagerly avoid bikes. Years later due to financial difficulties I have no option but to learn how to ride a bike .... Coz it will be my mode of transportation from school, to my work site .... I got hurt in the process of learning to ride the bike .... A couple of bruises and a bit of scrap here and there ... But nothing serious ..... As I got proficient and riding so did my confidence in using the bike .... By the way ... I dont own any bike at that time .... I only borrow it from my cousins..... As years progress I got the opportunity to buy my own bike ( second hand from our neighbours)...... After I bought a few upgrades I use it to commute from makati to tiendesitas where my work is located .... I usually bike to work 2 hrs ahead of time so that when I got to my work location I can still shower and get some much needed rest ..... After work hours ...specially during my day offs .... I would explore BGC during the morning when I get lucky .... meaning I woke up early .... But I also like to bike at night because of the cool breeze whenever I bike in BGC ... Specially when my route will take me to the luxury cars that are displayed by the huge windows .... Be it clear weather or stormy days I ride my bike because it gave me the independence that I crave ... It may be limited to some of you but it was MY RIDE ....By misfortune my bike was stolen and I have no choice but to commute again.... At present I am a 40+ over weight dude and sometimes with the help and support of my Significant Other ... By the way she does support me 100% .... I manage to assemble a road bike and have been riding it ever since .... FYI some part are second hand .... Dont have the budget for band new parts .... I was lucky manage to upgrade its brake/shift lever and very soon with a bit of luck I will be able to add a disk brake on the bike ....
