Only a short day today, because of how the accommodation worked out being so close to Christmas. It was a nice inland ride with one good could. The traffic as had mostly been the case down here was wonderful. We did a little walk to a couple of waterfalls on the way and a walk to the beach once we got here. A very nice morning on the bike.

Only a shortish ride today as part of what I thought we ride we couldn't as it was a dead end. Kaka Point was very nice and we managed to get a coffee from the coffee cart there. We were suppose to do anoother gravel loop there, but Sue want keen to we flagged it and ride the seal the 10km into Owaka.

Another great ride especially once we'd climbed the hill up onto ridge. Then the views were great. We dropped off the ridge and rejoined the Clutha River for the final 25 odd km.

Another great day on the bike. Continuing on the Clutha Gold trail from yesterday. Once again the trail surface was superb the whole way. We did have 2 trees down to work our way around. All part of the adventure. The cafe/shop at Millers Flat is permanently closed, but we heard from a local, that it has been purchased. Hopefully that means it will open again. We're having 2 days in Lawrence as the weather looks rubbish for the next couple of days.

The Roxburgh trail is one of our favourite trails down on this area. The surface is always excellent and the scenery is stunning. Soon you'll be able to ride all the way through, with out taking the jet boat. Even though the boat ride is expensive it's worth it as a one off. This was our second time. We then connected with the Clutha Gold trail, which one again had an excellent surface but not as spectacular. We're staying at the Roxburgh top 10 holiday, very nice and good value compared to other top 10s.

This was a very pleasant ride heading SW with a very strong NWly wide. I pity those going the other way. The trail surface is pretty good for the most part, just the odd section of loose thick gravel. I'm pleased I put the wider tyres. The Rock formations in this area are a feature for us.

We had a late start as we got talking to a couple at the cafe, but as our was slightly downhill allot of the way we made good time and decided to carry on to Omakau. This will give us a short day tomorrow to Alex where we're having a test day in a motel. It's suppose to start raining lunch time tomorrow so we're like to be there by then.

We'd arranged with a friend from Oamaru to take Sue and the luggage over the Pass to the Dansey Pass Hotel, where she waited for me to arrive. It was a stunning ride and with no load the bike felt really light. I did use the motor on the steeper sections. The worst piece was on the descent, millions of small close together corrugations. I thought the bike and I were going to rattle to bits. We had a nice coffee at the hotel then carried on to Naseby, where we had another coffee and did a grocery shop before going to camp. All in all a great day.
