South Munich to airport

Venice to Munich, through the Alps [6/6]
Last day, riding into Munich! A lot of pleasant German forests and canal riding. It was a hot day but the shaded areas were very welcome. Glacier rivers followed for most of the ride, with people from Munich everywhere on bikes stopping for a swim.

Big day getting to Austria / Innsbruck! Completed an intense uphill, then opted for a road based downhill as it was a little less busy at lunchtime. Then followed some up and down, mostly up and much of it steep, on a non busy road.

Late start meant hotter weather, but ride was scenic with mild grades. A little too much car noise due to roads tracks and paths being squeezed into tighter pass area.

Venice to Munich, through the Alps [2/6]
Flat all-cycleway ride, which was, perhaps a little boring compared to prior day, but the scenery was still good.
Got hit with a vicious headwind midway that took more effort to fight through. Also very hot, peaking at 90F. But overall a pleasant ride.

Took the train out of Venice Mestre to avoid traffic. Incredible route, scenic mountains surround from beginning to end. Some car traffic but fairly light, mostly other cyclists which thins out halfway to Trento.

Big gravel day. Hotter than day before but less exposed. Also less climbing and gravel felt more consistent. Really fun downhill in the middle and some good coastal riding before Porec.

Croatia Parenzana [1/2]
Mixed feelings on ride. Some parts were spectacular, but there was a lot of pain on narrow roads packed with traffic. On the Parenzana climb, gravel was inconsistent and so poor in areas that I opted to just go on the road.
