The amateur race at the Lausitzring was a very special experience. In addition to the 68km course, there was also a 100km race, a 24-hour race, and other competitions. The organization was excellent. Everything went smoothly. And I averaged over 30km/h for the first time in a long time. Highly recommended

The tour initially leads through the district of North Saxony from Taucha to Eilenburg. The cycle path from Liehmehna between the villages is still quite new and a wonderful ride.

In Eilenburg, you then continue over the Mulde River into the northern district of Leipzig. Via Böhlitz, you continue to R

From Besskow, the loop leads around Lake Schwieloch. The route is very scenic.

To Sabrodt, the route follows the B87 on a very well-developed cycle path, always through the forest. Then it continues on secondary roads via Zaue to Goyatz.

There, we took a lake cruise around Lake Schwieloch. Very scenic

The route is very easy to ride unless you're facing a south-easterly wind. The cycle path along Lake Goitzsche is well-maintained. There are a few places where it's better to keep your hands on the handlebars.

But the area is very beautiful. The back roads up to the Nordsachsen district also have little

The tour leads from Torgau through the northern Dahlen Heath. Via Röcknitz, it continues into the Mulde Valley. In Canitz, you cross the Mulde River and then head towards Leipzig via Püchau and Machern.

The route is flat. There are only two climbs: before Böhlitz (a bit longer) and in Püchau (short and

The loop is really easy to cycle. Between Machern and Wurzen, you should definitely not take the shorter route; that would be the B&, which is busy and doesn't have a bike path. So, it's better to take the small detour via Zeititz.

The village square in Thallwitz (km 30) is a good place to take a break

Today I used my Germany ticket and took the train to Geithain. The train ride from Leipzig to Geithain alone was worth the experience. Train travel like in the nineties

The route back is easy to ride as it tends to be downhill. There are cycle paths in some sections. Otherwise you use side roads with
