Very slippery and muddy track if it was raining in the last week. It took way more time to get up there, than I expected. The 2,5h to the treeline felt like eternity but the views up there are just amazing. Endless waterfalls and the glacier of course. Saw a few camping up there and regret that I didn

Beautiful viewpoint!
Even the down in the valley this place looks astonishing. The drive there was reasonable for a regular car (after a few dry days) and an adventure itself.
First 9km with the mountainbike, tracking stopped for battery saving shortly before the half. Took a little more than 2h to get

Went the same way back that day, which made it a very challenging tour even though I had the bike in the "flats". The Track through the bush is not often maintained, bearly visible and ends at the treeline. After that point there is no way and you have to find your own way in the tussok, until you reach

Nice little hike with a lot of sheep and deer encounters aswell as 2 lakes.
I recomend better weather for the views but I'm spoiled after Roys Peak anyway 😅
Track itself is 99% easy and would be a good entry to trailrunning.
And since I finally met the DOC estimate of 3h with photos and snacking, I consider

An incredibly beautiful hike and so far our absolute favorite ❤️👍 in New Zealand. Instead of just hiking to Roy's Peak, we continued over Mount Alpha to the Skyline Ridge Start/End. Incredibly beautiful views along the entire route, including Lake Wanaka and many mountain ranges such as Mount Aspiring

One of many ways to stretch your feet along the Haast Pass 🙂. The Blue Pools are known for the color of the water 🔵. The hiking trail is very easy and leads over a beautiful suspension bridge 👍 Since it is so easily accessible, it is also quite crowded. Some also like to swim a lap in the much too cold water 😉🥶.

Short Way up to Avalanche Peak, with nice waterfalls in the beginning and nice views up top. Chances to explore around the ridgeline, if experienced with scree. I would recommend to take the other/longer way down.

2h to Mueller Hut and 15min more to Mt Ollivier, which is the most reasonable point to stop. Absolute Gem of a tour!
But climbing the Ridgline further is difficult and risky while not really offering new views, so I would NOT recommend to go past Mt Ollivier!
