A Swiss Bikepacking Traverse... a high alpine bikepacking adventure across forgotten passes and silent valleys This multi-day gravel route takes you across the Swiss Alps, far away from traffic, deep into nature, and high above the valleys. You’ll ride remote pass roads, push your bike on rugged climbs, and sleep under starry skies. Designed for 5–7 days with a tent or lightweight setup. Route Highlights: • Alte Pragelpassstraße (~1550 m) – remote forest gravel and steep silence • Klöntal – stunning turquoise lake below vertical cliffs • Mountain trail above Linthal – panoramic riding with some hike-a-bike • Klausenpass (1948 m) – flowing alpine road, waterfalls and wide views • Alte Sustenstraße – old gravel route full of character and solitude • Sustenpass (2224 m) – glaciers and clean mountain air • Grimselpass (2165 m) – wild and windy, above the deep-blue reservoirs • Furkapass (2429 m) – a timeless classic with high-alpine curves • Oberalppass (2046 m) – the final big climb before the open flow into Graubünden • Vorderrhein valley to Chur – fast-rolling and wide open to the finish Good to know: Best suited for experienced bikepackers with a gravel bike (38–45 mm tires recommended), a solid base of fitness, and a love for remote mountain terrain. Expect some sections of pushing – and many moments of awe.
