Nice walk mostly through amazing woodland. At times the path is a bit overgrown with a couple of slightly steeper bits close to the food bridge. Start can be reached with public transport (by bus, Methlik stop) from Aberdeen.

Nice views from Cairn mon earn, and walk mostly through woodlands. However, tracks are all wide forestry roads. Not that interesting or natural, but good for people with walking difficulties. Car park holds only about 4 cars, so better get there early on weekends.

Nice varied walk, starting in the woods, then open heather plateau, than back through the woods into the Glen Tanar Nature Reserve. Walk along the river in the end.
