Bæjargil & Svartifoss hike. A pleasant and well-marked trail through the Bæjargil valley, leading to the famous Svartifoss waterfall surrounded by its striking black basalt columns. The walk is easy to moderate, with some uphill sections, but never technical. Beautiful views along the way make it well worth the climb.

Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon walk
An easy and well-marked trail following the rim of the canyon, with several viewpoints overlooking the winding river and steep moss-covered cliffs. The path gradually climbs to the final viewpoint near Mögáfoss waterfall. No technical sections and beautiful views throughout the walk.

Dyrhólaey Lighthouse & Black Beach walk
We followed the trail along the top of the cliffs to Dyrhólaey Lighthouse, enjoying spectacular views over the coastline, the huge natural rock arch and the endless black-sand beach below. An easy and very scenic walk, with several panoramic viewpoints along the way.

Skógafossvegur hike
A beautiful trail starting at Skógafoss and climbing the stairs beside the waterfall before continuing along the river above. The path passes a series of waterfalls and offers great views over the surrounding landscape. Easy to follow and not technical, although the initial climb is quite steep.
