Val Formazza: Riale, Passo S. Giacomo, Griespass 🇮🇹🇨🇭
Quite long but very nice tour. Start and end in Riale. Variated landscape, both green and soft, and more high alpine characteristics with view of glaciers. Lot of beautiful lakes. Stop at Capanna Corno.

Start in the clouds from the hospiz. This year more water and snow than the last years. Last km up to the glacier off-grid. Always beautiful views over the mountains and the glacier. Lunar landscape around the Chaltwasser lake. End with sunshine and a bath in the lower lake.

The normal way between the two valleys is to pass by Scatta Minoia. I would say this tour is a more variated trip, with many different views. Green and flowering on the Devero side, after Bocchetta della Valle more severe landscape and still a lot of snow and ice on the lakes. Fauna: A lot of marmots

First and last part is steepest. Up towards the forest passing by Alpe Misanco. After that a gentle green valley before you reach the final climb towards the highlands above tree level. Today Lago di Buscagna was full, and still with a lot of snow on the border. Dry seasons or later is can fully disappear

We made a short stop at this strange formation in the huge Vänern, one of the largest lakes of Europe.

On this trip we took the Seggiovia for the first part that is quite boring. The top of Monte Rosa was in the clouds, but it is still very impressive and powerful.
