Mostly very easy hike which takes you through plenty of picturesque villages. The last bit was a bit challenging though as it started raining and the “Roman staircase” and the rest of the path became quite slippery. If you’re scared of height or during rainy weather, I’d recommend to skip that part and walk back on the other side of the river (where the main road is). The good thing is that you can cut the trip short any time and jump on bus 315 which has multiple stops along the way (I did that as well due to the rain).

Beautiful hike which breathtaking views almost throughout the whole hike. You can get to Cardada by Cable car/ funicular from Locarno. The hike could also be shortened with less uphill hiking if you take the chairlift from Cardada to Cimetta. Moderate fitness level is required and hiking boots are highly recommended.
