Last leg done as and out and back walk from the point where the path splits to go to the two end points. Paths in this area have been made difficult to walk on by significant use by off road motorbikes churning them up

The path has two end points at Thetford station and Knettishall heath. Thetford chosen as easier to find to be picked up there and was not certain I'd get to Knettishall in the light.

Day 5 had no rain. There was however mist and fog all day with visibility about 100m. Passed lots of places where apparently the views are great but didn't see anything! There are long stretches on narrow paths between paddocks which at this time were all mud. Pub at Gazeley looked good but fully booked.

4th day weather a bit dull. Paths at beginning were good but a muddy day overall. Linton cafe was a nice spot for coffee but as walk went o n weather deteriorated and was getting more remote. Decided to cut short and Elaine picked me up in what felt like the middle of nowhere.

Day three involved really nice weather and from Baldock to Royston was fairly familiar as I had walk this section before. This is the second day of the Icknield Way Walk. Started at Upper Sundon and ended at Tescos in Baldock. Completed on a bright and sunny afternoon in early March. Easy walking and good as a starter walk but more road walking than the name suggests.
