Cronin's Yard, then to the start of Heavenly Gate, go past that and ascend O'Sheas Gulley, a good tough drag. Then onto Carrauntoohil.
Descent via Heavenly Gate, a good workout.

Good boots necessary plus warm clothes in reserve, rain jacket etc. on a good day unbeatable!
Don't rely on apps if going for the first time, nice to have someone with you who's done it before.
