The tour is a variation of the via Francigena, going in the opposite direction towards Canterbury rather than to Rome. It also takes a more direct route to shave off around 4km of the total route

Recommend this route especially if you're not fond of climbing stairs 😁, compared to the other way around, we did more going down than climbing up.
We stopped walking at Hohnstein Polentzal because there was a bus stop there that could take us to Pirna ZOB, and from there it's just a short walk to the
Geraldine Granada and Paulv planned a hike.

Compiobbi can be reached with the regional train from Firenze Santa Maria Novella. After the wine tasting, you can walk down to Settignano where you can normally take the #10 bus back to Firenze.
We could not take the bus there however because the tabaccheria was closed so we couldn't buy bus tickets
