Difficult terrain along the shore for 2 miles, then nice pathway as you get closer to Coniston. Bear in mind if you do the whole route there and back the difficult terrain will be at the start and finish.

Paths overgrown in places. Possibility of cattle in some fields but was fortunate that there wasn't any today.

I would advise not to attempt this route as it was not easily accessible due to it being gated off from the start.
