The good:
- Lots of fun trails and interesting spots to check out.
- Not even half of what's in the immediate area.
- Spectacular sections of high exposed singletrack above the River Almond.
The bad:
- Ouch, my tendons! Some jarring roots if you get your line wrong.
- A couple of fallen trees to negotiate

The good:
- Lots of interesting bits of track and exploring odd corners of the Cairngorms
- Ample opportunities for cakes and coffee!
- Saves the best till last, Glen Tromie through to Glen Feshie
The bad:
- Glen Banchor hike-a-bike. Relatively painless but wet underfoot.
- Two crossings of the A9.
- Short

The good:
- Huge variety of high quality hill tracks, old military roads and woodland trails.
- Access to less well known regions of the Cairngorms Park.
- Rugged and varied scenery throughout.
The Bad:
- Crossing the A9 at Slochd – be patient and wait for a gap!
- Gambling with water levels in the Findhorn

- Fantastic scenery and (almost...) continuously good gravel throughout
- Wild and remote

- One tricky boggy bit

The good:
- Lost of fast and dusty farm tracks
- Historical interest: Roman Roads, Castles, Macduff's Cross, the Wallace Road and a memorial to a witch.
- Optional detours in Pitmedden for the singletrack hounds.

The good:
- Almost perfect, almost continuous gravel.
- Some classic wild and remote scenery
- Famous lunch stop
The bad:
- Two short squashy bits (UPDATE - 1 fewer squashy bits now, section after Loch Pattack has been surfaced).
- Imminent hydro works will spoil the Lochan na h-Earba sections
- Only one lunch

The good:
- Glen Roy ice age scenery
- Beautiful rivers and waterfalls
- Mainly excellent going with some optional singletrack (not plotted)
The bad:
- 5km and 8km sections of the A86
- 5km of 'varied' going between Luib Chonnal bothy and Shesgnan
- Relatively tarmac heavy overall.

The good:
- Simple navigation
- Beautiful surroundings
- Nice variety of trails
The bad:
- North bank of Loch Affric might not be to everybody's tastes.
- Not especially adventurous
This was a short little route ridden as part of a day's travelling from further north back to the central belt.
Glen Affric is

Pros:
- Lots of farm track secteurs (and some classic Dundee cobbles!) to test the legs on.
- That special blend of Tayside/Fife scenery and terrain, misty green farm-fields and rolling hills.
- The usual scattering of peachy singletrack, I seem to be drawn to it!
Cons:
- Field sections can still be muddy
