A beautiful fall day, people out and about, well paved bike lanes. The lap of the Alster was great. But then don’t do what I did and ride past the Hbf. Too many stupid people, delivery bikes, e-Scooters etc. that don’t pay attention. Kind of dangerous at times.

Just kind of, in effect, threw a dart on the map and went there. The first part was typical uneven bike lanes along the streets mit ein paar Baustellen für spaß ein geworfen. Aber dann, im Wald, alles war super. Und das sehr geliebt Resturant war nett. Und dann, weiter durch den Wald und nach Hause.

Started by following one of the trips suggested by Komoot, and then, after I finished that, I just kept on going. It was mostly great riding, but with a few places that were, yeah, less than optimal.

So, on the way back, again, from Isemarkt, I decided to pass through Jungfernstieg and see how the construction was progressing (it’s mostly done, thankfully). But then, I heard a band playing, realized it was Friday around 12:45, and therefore it could only be the Hamburg Polizei Orchester doing their regular Friday noon hour thing in front of the Rathaus. Well worth it if you’re in the area (during the warm months). I play with them on occasion and so it was great to say hi to a few colleagues.

It was all pretty good. Komoot had just a bit over an hour in motion. Add in a few red lights and such, I think it came to 75-80 minutes in total.

I start classes there in a couple of weeks, and it was a good thing I did a test ride. A LOT of construction detours, etc.. I’ll have to try another route next time.

A beautiful day, not too hot. The bike lanes were all well maintained, most of them paved, actually. Of course, the last half hour when I was back in HH proper, the bike lanes were rougher. But otherwise a beautiful, scenic ride.
