Eberbach Monastery - known to film fans from the name of the rose - has only been a tourist hotspot since secularisation.
But there is very little going on in the forest high above the Rhine.

Small pre-spring hike along, partly on a former railway line, from Johanneskirchen to the drained Johanneskirchner Moor.
Construction of this freight line began in 1939.
